About Allison Holmes
Wife to Josh of 7 years, besides baking, Allison enjoys sunrises, music, and sweating it out at the gym/sauna. As a licensed esthetician with a specialty in skin therapy, she always had a passion for health and wellness. But working from the outside in only got her and her clients so far.
Over her health journey recovering from many issues, she learned to prioritize working from the inside out. She started evaluating her lifestyle and realized not only did she need a change but saw a need in the community for a source of quality nutrition from farm to table. After a powerful encounter with the Holy Spirit on a drive home from her 9-5 job, Allison quit, and started a -and micro-bakery “The Holmestead” in 2023. By 2024, she was able to invest in a Simply Bread oven and multiple growing materials and racks for her germination room, while also having her husband join the team, to significantly increase product volume. She is ready to take it to the next level by taking on more projects and educational opportunities, “I am so excited to see where we grow next! Fresh cut flowers are what I’m focusing on for my next adventure.”
About Joshua Holmes
After teaching for years and transitioning to sales, Josh decided to quit the corporate world to help Allison now that business was really picking up.
Josh has taken over the “growing” department but also assists in cottage baked good production. He can make some killer sandwich bread to go with his spicy salad mix! He is currently expanding produce options and excited to share more about it down the road.
He enjoys playing bass guitar and video games on his PC. He routinely looks forward to nightly walks with his Corgi, Watson and remains a total night owl despite early market and work hours to Allison’s suprise. “If someone is responding to your messages at 4 AM it’s likely Allison up preparing orders for the day.” Josh laughs. “Allison is the administrative and organizational side of things, and I’m the laid back, work with my hands kind-of-guy”.
Cindy S.
Cindy is Allison’s mom. She is usually behind the scenes assisting in both departments, but you can sometimes spot her at markets or the farm stand. Cindy, Allison, and Josh all live on the same land together. After retiring from teaching, Cindy started helping Allison in the early stages as business picked up to be able to increase efficiency without compromising quality. She enjoys spending time with animals or hanging out by the lake or beach in her downtime.

Katie is a licensed cosmetologist and early childhood educator with years of experience in the retail and food industry. The Holmestead team is so excited to have her.
Katie is a hard worker and full of integrity, willing to go the extra mile to serve others. In her downtime, Katie loves trying new recipes in the kitchen and hanging out with her adorable cats.
